Take a look at this AdWeek story, which features several tweets, about a Kellogg’s UK promotion that went very wrong. While the gesture was strong and I get what they were trying to do and say, sometimes the devil is in the details and poor wording can take a meaningful gesture and make you look like a heartless fool, all while trying to get retweets. The beating Kellogg’s UK took on twitter was well deserved, and to be expected given the speed with which twitter reacts.
