Quaker Steak & Lube and the “Wing Wag”

I recently returned from Pittsburgh where I spent July 4th. One of the restaurants I visited while in the area was Quaker Steak & Lube. I would basically equate Quaker Steak to a TGI Friday’s or a Chili’s. They have really taken the theme of the Quaker State oil and lube chain and made it their own as they sell wings, burgers, salads, and sandwiches.

One of the more creative promotional items they give you with your bill is the “wing wag” which is used for “desaucification’, which is a fancy way of saying “wipe off your hands”. In theory, you get the “wing wag” after you’ve had a batch of the saucy wings, which come in many flavors and degrees of spice. But, the “wing wag” can be used at any time, and the back of the sealed package comes with instructions for heating or cooling the wipe, depending on its intended purpose.

I think this is a pretty effective and creative promotional item. Have you seen well designed items? If so, tweet them to us.
